A Midrand hire team built around event timing
LED-Lightbox Rental works from a Midrand base and serves events across Gauteng, with longer routes taken for jobs that need the right hire pieces in place. The business is led by Lethabo Mokoena and supported by a small team that knows how to move lighting pieces, letters and signs without wasting time on site.
Our work is not only about dropping off equipment. It is about getting the item to the right room, checking the floor space, and making sure the display reads clearly once the venue lights dim. That is useful at a wedding entrance, a photo corner, a launch stage or a company function where the first view matters.
What sits in our hire stock
We hire out LED lightboxes, marquee letters and illuminated signs in sizes that suit indoor rooms, entrance points and photo areas. Some pieces are free standing, while others are positioned against a wall or paired with florals, plinths or furniture supplied by the event organiser.
- LED lightboxes for names, messages and welcome points
- Marquee letters for initials, brand words and event themes
- Neon-style signs for bars, photo spots and stage backdrops
- Multi-item installs for larger rooms and layered displays
- Indoor placement and outdoor placement where the venue allows it
Each item is checked before loading so the lettering, wiring and support pieces are ready for the job. That keeps the install cleaner on site and helps the display sit straight, especially where floors are uneven or the venue layout changes at short notice.
How set-up is handled at a venue
Event set-up starts with the access point, the power point location and the final position for the display. We look at where guests will walk, where photographs will be taken and how much room is needed for safe cable routing. If an item is being placed outdoors, the ground conditions and weather exposure are part of the plan too.
Our team handles the physical work on site, from moving the hire pieces into position to setting them level and keeping cables tucked away where they are less likely to catch footwear or disrupt the layout. For venues with stricter rules, we work within the venue's own access notes and keep the install tidy.
- Power point check before placement
- Safe cable routing around walkways and furniture
- Photo area layouts for clearer guest pictures
- Late night collection when the event runs late
- Post-event collection with equipment packed down properly
People behind the bookings and the moving parts
Kagiso Naicker handles client bookings, while Ayesha Chetty keeps operations moving and Sibusiso Kekana manages logistics. Megan Shezi leads event set-up on site, Noluthando Khumalo tracks inventory and Ruan Moagi handles driving and installation work. That mix keeps the hire side organised from the first booking note through to collection after the event.
The work needs coordination because each location is different. A hotel ballroom in Sandton is not handled the same way as a garden function in Pretoria or a corporate evening in Durban. The layout, access route and load-in point all affect how the pieces are carried, unpacked and positioned, so we plan around those details before arrival.
Where we deliver and how far the hire can travel
Our core work covers Midrand, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Sandton, Centurion, Rosebank and Fourways, with delivery and set-up arranged across Gauteng. We also handle out-of-town logistics for selected jobs that need the right illuminated pieces at a venue further afield, including Durban.
Our wider delivery area suits weddings, parties and company events where the display needs to fit the venue layout and overall look from the start. Some clients want a single statement letter, others need a full word set, and others need a lightbox plus a neon-style sign for different parts of the room. We prepare for the load-in, the sequence of placement and the collection route, so the hire fits the event flow.

How we work with event organisers and venues
Most bookings need a clear brief: the venue name, the event date, the room size, the display wording and whether the pieces will stand indoors or outdoors. That gives us enough detail to plan vehicle space, loading order and the equipment needed for the set-up. It also helps when the venue has access rules, floor protection requirements or limits around cable runs.
Our crew handles each step on site. If a layout needs a power point check, we do that on site before the display goes in place. If the room needs a photo area, we set the item where the backdrop reads well in pictures. If the event finishes late, collection is arranged around the venue's handover rules and the load-out route, not around guesswork.
